The energy chain in the lane – Part 5

Lightning-fast autoglide 5 installation

Busbar systems and modern energy chain systems have always been relatively quick and easy to install. The manufacturers of these products ensure that installation is uncomplicated and that anyone can learn to do it in a very short period.

Busbar systems are usually fixed to brackets two to six metres apart, and the brackets themselves must then be mounted on the shelf. Classic energy chains need a guide trough. Guide troughs must also be fixed to the floor with C-rails (usually at intervals of two metres). It is easy to see that a travel of 100 metres will require a great deal of drilling and bolting. The process is not particularly complicated, but it does take time and money.

The autoglide 5 is almost revolutionary in this respect:

Installation essentially requires nothing more than two drill holes and two bolts. Why? The cable along which the autoglide 5 travels safely is fixed at the beginning and at the end of the travel. That’s it! The rope is tensioned with muscle power. The harnessed energy chain is only rolled out and, as with all systems, bolted to the mini-load or transverse shuttle and to the floor. Done! Installation takes just an hour, no matter how long the travel. Probably less once you have done it a few times.
