Let it snow, let it snow

Snow? Yes, you read that right. We had lots of snow and the igus:bike and our team were right in the middle of it. But where exactly?

We were on the Feldberg, just below the summit with its 1,493 meters. The Feldberg is the highest mountain in the Black Forest. This was the start of the first stage of week 5 of our world tour, which took us back to the south of Germany.

The Feldberg greeted us with snow and fog at 0 degrees. From the summit you actually have a beautiful view of the Rhine plain, the Vosges mountains and the Swabian Alb. Unfortunately, our team could only admire a gray wall, but still had a lot of fun.

From the Feldberg, the tour led 1,200 m downhill through the Black Forest, along the valley road and the Brugga river to the confluence with the Dreisam. We followed the Dreisam all the way to Freiburg, to our destination in the old town: Freiburg Minster.

Our rider: David Becker

I’m David, 40 years old, and I’ve been working at igus since May 2024. I live near Freiburg im Breisgau (Black Forest) and am responsible for field sales in the Freiburg region. I’m taking part in the bike tour because I find the project exciting and have already been asked about it by customers. That’s why my own experience on the bike is very good, which I can gain on this stage.

I am always curious about the route and the spots you are visiting. Is it worth going or maybe I have already been there before and recognize it.

So the maps are always a good indicator but have you thought about using an app like relive (https://www.relive.cc/de)?
Would be even more fun to follow the daily route.
