Can I lubricate plain bearings with WD-40?

Initial lubrication – namely, one-time application of WD-40 when the plain bearings are being installed – improves the wear properties, above all in the so-called running-in phase. However, our plain bearings are by no means dependent on lubrication with WD-40.
