How is an iglidur plain bearing fixed in place in a bearing housing?

The iglidur plain bearings are designed in such a way that they can be press-fitted in a housing with H7 tolerance and the nominal dimensions of the bearing’s outer diameter, and are then fixed in place by means of a press-fit. This is achieved due to so-called interference , in other words the bearing’s outer diameter, depending on the nominal size, is approximately 0.1 to 0.25 mm larger than the housing before the bearing is press-fitted. In addition, the final dimensions and tolerances of the inner diameter are not reached until the bearing has been press-fitted.
