igus Output Encoders for robolink – no longer available

We can no longer supply the robolink output encoders.

Reason is that the chip supplier finished the production of the encoder chip. We have to block all AE Products now.

This also concerns our RL-DCi compact units. We will have to redesign those for the use of motor encoders. For the next 4-8 weeks we will not be able to supply any of these units.

We are now working on an improved output encoder version. The redesign will use another encoder chip. The new product will be available from SEP-OKT 2018 on

At the FAKUMA trade show, our supplier and partner DR. BOY (http://www.dr-boy.de/) presented an injection moulding process. The automated handling of the products is operated by a 4 DOF robolink joint arm RL-D-RBT-5532-BC (igus standard product) together with a CPR control unit (http://cpr-roboter.de/produkte/igusrobot.html).

An interesting, unusual problem solution to the calculation of complicated Robolink movements is offered by www.RoBo-mac.de

The program, a Mathematical 3D joint Toolbox controls Direct and Inverse Kinematics, all parameter and measurements “of your robolink arm” can become basic inputs of the calculation. The program tool not only calculates “Pick & Place” final positions, but also individual circle and 3D spline continuous paths movements. It calculates articulated arm & gantry robotic to realize combined igus drylin & robolink motion using 3D Bézier free forms.
